The city of Hadera marks its 130th anniversary this year. It was established as a colony by the people of the first aliyah in 1891, and its name originates from the Arabic language - EL HADER - " the green", after the color of the algae in the swamps that surrounded it.
Today, the city of Hadera is a leader in green construction - there is a strict reference to the environment (only recently two schools were established there, the first in the world, which feed on 100% green energy).
Also within the city is the largest power station in Israel - "Orot Rabin", which supplies electricity to most of the State of Israel.
Therefore, it was decided that the theme of the festival would be in the spirit of
"Energy, Innovation and the Environment."
